GREEN COMM AWARD EUROPE
BBF/EXPO COMM ITALIA invites the Telecommunications and Information and Communications Technologies companies with operations in Europe to know in order to obtain the award
GREEN COMM AWARD EUROPE.
Purpose
Recognize the environmentally responsible Telecommunications and Information and Communications Technologies companies who have implemented practices or programs in benefit of the environment in Europe.
The award
GREEN COMM AWARD EUROPE is guaranteed by a Consulting Board comprised by representatives of public and private bodies of the environmental sector of the country.
Bases
1.- Requirements
All the national and international telecommunications and information and communications technologies companies whose initiatives and activities are performed in Europe may participate in the GREEN COMM AWARD EUROPE.
Do not have environmental administrative procedures in course or prove that the issued technical measures have been completed.
Declare the non existence of legal conflicts or issues with any authority or entity which are contrary or may discredit GREEN COMM AWARD EUROPE.
The non compliance of any of the requirements mentioned above shall automatically disqualify the proposal.
2.- Categories
The
GREEN COMM AWARD EUROPE will be awarded under the following criteria:
- Companies developing equipment, products or systems with elements or components which contribute to the conservation and protection of the environment.
- Companies applying technological residues management and usage programs.
- Companies participating in environmental program’s initiatives.
The participants in the first category may be private organizations who manufacture equipment and systems inside or outside of the country, but traded within Europe.
The participants in the second category may be private organizations, whether manufacturers or not of equipment and systems, who apply these types of programs.
The participants in the third category may be private organizations who foster social responsibility and environmental care programs (technological wastes programs, recycled products, efficiency of electrical consume, toxic-free devices, flora and fauna preservation), who will be awarded with a special recognition and do not participate against the other two categories.
3.- About the submission of the proposals
The proposal shall be attached with irrefutable and provable information and documentation about the program seeking to be awarded.
The proposal shall contain the following documents:
- Application letter: providing the full data of the company, category in which it will participate (each company may participate in the three categories), actions supporting the deserving of the award, contact name, address, telephone number and e-mail.
- Statement letter: stating that there are no environmental administrative procedures in course. This letter shall also affirm the non existence of legal conflicts or issues with any authority or entity which are contrary or may discredit GREEN COMM AWARD EUROPE.
- Summary document: The participating companies shall send a two page document containing the general description of the program or project and including the purpose, scope and benefits achieved or expected therefrom.
- Full document: The participating companies shall submit a ten page document providing the backgrounds, purposes, scope of the program, environmental elements being preserved or improved, concrete actions performed, applied processes or methodologies, achieved results and provable benefits of the program.
- Supporting material: To reinforce the proposal, it is recommendable to include printed, audiovisual or graphic material, publications and statements, when available, to support the program.
4.- Proposal Assessment
The practices of the postulants shall mean an actual challenge for the integral competitiveness and sustainability of the organization and key strategies to keep every area focused on the improvement of the environmental performance, including evidence of communication of the environmental values to the employees and results or advances of their environmental performance indicators.
An important aspect to consider is that such practices are being applied within the organization and have an external projection which is known by the public.
The submitted programs, initiatives or projects shall have been started and applied within 24 months prior to the date of this summons.
They shall have such duration to evidence that the initiative performed by the company is giving the expected results.
The proposals will be assessed in accordance with the following table of values:

The supporting documentation will be returned within fifteen days following the awarding date upon express request from the postulants.
For the non commercial broadcasting of the papers received, the Organization will request the written authorization of the author.
6.- About the awarding
The jury will be comprised by a Consulting Board comprised by representatives of public and private bodies of the environmental sector of the country.
The award of the jury will not be appealable. As the case may be, the jury may declare void one or more categories if they consider that the respective proposals do not have enough merits; they may grant special recognitions to one proposal per category.
Any case not considered by this Summons will be submitted by the Technical Secretary of the Award to the members of the jury for their respective resolution.
The award event will take place during EXPO COMM EUROPE.
The winning participants will receive the GREEN COMM AWARD EUROPE and they may use the emblem, in the understanding that Organization , through such emblem or stamp, does not guarantee or support in any manner the product or service offered by the company. The use of the stamp shall always make reference to the year when it was granted and the name of the company who received the award.
Likewise, a Press Release will be made communicating the results of the GREEN COMM AWARD EUROPE, making reference to the Environmental Responsibility practices in Technology of each winner.
